 European Picnic 2009 Join us for the European Picnic on 30th May! Sorry, our particpation is cancelled due to the bad weather. And how about bringing an item of food from another country to share with others…? You’ll find us from 1pm in the picnic area by the Passerelle of the Jardin des deux Rives. Join us on 24.9.2009 at 7.30pm for a musical evening of Persian songs with texts from the 13th and 14th century. Simin Khakpour sings and plays the frame drum, Samira Memarzadeh plays harp and Gisela Erbslöh reads translations of the texts. Organised by Food Culture, SMILE and Café Babel…
I’ll be there Friday 10th July, 2009 from 5.30-7.30pm for a discussion with the youth of today on topics such as culture and European food. Looking forward to seeing you there, Join us at 20h30 by the bridge on the French side to have time to find a good place to sit! The language tables of SMILE, the Café Polyglotte in Haguenau, Neustadt am Rhein and Chatosferabella all came together for the European Picnic on Sunday. The Jardin des Deux Rives was buzzing with activity and the sun kept us warm most of the afternoon as we enjoyed food typical of different European countries. Thanks to all who took part and we look forward to planning many activities together in the future. On 9th May, we ate, danced and celebrated in Café Movie, Kehl. The many languages were complemented by the many music styles…from disco through to salsa. A projection on the history of the EU during the past 51 years accompanied the evening. Thanks to all who took part. The international brunch was well attended and took place in the Rheinschneck Café, Kehl, which is situated by a lake close to the Rhine. Participants were able to take advantage of the buffet of warm and cold food while enjoying conversations in many languages. Die Akademie für Bildende Kunst veranstaltet eine Reihe von Werkstattgesprächen für ein kunstinteressiertes Publikum. Bei diesen Veranstaltungen sollen verschiedene Aspekte der Bildkonzeption besprochen werden. Es soll ein Dialog zwischen Studierenden, Dozenten und Ihnen entstehen.
